Port Neches announces RiverFest schedule

Visitors begin trickling in on the first day of the Neches River Fest in Port Neches, Thursday. Tammy McKinley, The Enterprise

The Annual Port Neches RiverFest is returning to River Front Park in Port Neches the first week of May.

Stop by the park May 3-7 for power boat races, live music, food, a carnival and arts and crafts vendors.

Here’s a schedule for this year’s festival:

April 29:
Fun Run 5K and 1K 8 a.m. and 9 a.m.
Barbecue cook-off at the Neches River Wheelhouse, 10 a.m.-6p.m.

May 3:
Treasure Hunt Sponsored by Compass Bank, until treasure is found
Kick-Off Coffee  at the Neches Federal Credit Union, 776 Magnolia in Port Neches, 8 a.m.
Mighty Thomas Carnival, open 5 p.m.-10 p.m.
Entertainment Complex, open 5 p.m.-9:30 p.m.
Faith & Family Opening Ceremonies, Riverfront Stage, 6 p.m.
The Digital Age, a Christian band, 7 p.m.-8:30 p.m.

May 4:
Philpott Motors Carnival Ride Wristband Night.  Stop by Philpott Motors in Nederland for a $5 off coupon.
Special Needs Carnival Session, invitation only, noon-2 p.m.
Mighty Thomas Carnival and vendors, open 5 p.m.-10 p.m.
Kids T-shirt contest winner announced, pavilion, 6 p.m.
Entertainment Complex, open 6:30 p.m.-11 p.m.
Living Proof, 7:30 p.m.-9 p.m.
Reckless Kelly, 9:30 p.m.-11 p.m.

May 5:
S.P.O.R.T. power boat testing, 3 p.m.-5:30 p.m.

Classic Car Show sponsored by Melancon’s Funeral Home, 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
